Safeguarding of Children & Adults – Level 3 (VTQ)

All organisations that work with or come into contact with children and adults should have safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure that every child or adult, regardless of their age, gender, religion or ethnicity, can be protected from harm.

This course is aimed at training individuals and managers who work with children and adults to ensure they know how to identify and report possible cases of abuse and neglect. Vulnerable adults and children face potential risks if the care and support are not provided. This qualification
is designed to create an open-ended awareness of ongoing safeguarding concerns and will build on your confidence in dealing with abuse and neglect once it is identified.

This qualification also provides coverage on protection from abuse, maltreatment and preventing harm to their health and development.

The content of this and all our courses has been independently certified as conforming to universally accepted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) guidelines and come with a Certified CPD Statement as well as the Certificate.

Identify who are main safeguarding multi-agencies
Recognise who is a vulnerable adult or child
Identify and list who is most vulnerable in our society
Understand current legislation regarding safeguarding and protection of children and adults.
Understand legislation and safeguarding Acts
Recognise statutory assessments required for each Act
Recognise the role of welfare services and the treatment/support available
Be able to understand human rights
Know the importance of ‘The Care Act 2014’ and ‘Equality Act 2010’
Understand other legislation, policies, procedures and guidance regarding safeguarding and protection of children and adults.
Understanding the law and how each policy affects a person or organisation
Recognise how each policy is governed
Understanding disclosure and how barring services work
Understand what mental capacity (MCA) and deprivation of liberty (DOLS) is
Be able to apply key principles from MCA and DOLS
Recognise how the impact of abuse affects the workplace and the home.

Outline what abuse is and how this affects vulnerable adults

Pre-requisite: MINIMUM age of 14 years. Able to complete all requirements. Good understanding of English language
